If you try to convert a password protected powerpoint file using server edition, a messagebox will pop up saying "This file can only be edited by _____, type a password to edit or hit read only".

This is naturally a very bad thing for a "server" to do. Any way to avoid having the box pop up and catch it programmatically?

Hi

Thanks for your message.

We have not investigated this question yet since this the first time we received a request regarding password protected presentations. To make possible passing the passwords programatically, we will need to add new functionality that will require investigation and additional development. Of course, if you need this feature for your project we can think about adding such functionality in future versions. Please, let us know your vision of how the passwords should be passed during conversion, where the will be stored and we will be glad to continue our discussion.

Thank you!

Well, ideally the FlashSpring Server Edition will run on a Server. We want that server to automatically convert powerpoint files to flash files. This is the whole point of having a server edition.

However, if you happen to give it a powerpoint file that requires a password to open (which may happen), the ONLY way to continue execution of the server is to log onto it and click a button in the dialog box that popped up.

If the powerpoint has a password on it, the conversion should fail, and execution should continue. A pop up box should NEVER happen.

I understand what you need. I talked to our developers and they say that it is possible to make FlashSpring Server skip presentations which are password protected. FlashSpring Server will not open such presentations, it will just cotinue converting the other ones. If this is what you need, we will add this functionality into the next maintanence release of FlashSpring Server 2.1 next week.

Thank you!

Be free to ask your further questions.
