So confused about adding videos files to slides!

For my iSpring PPT elearning, I start with a PPT.  I have 3 videos to add to the PPT elearning.

This is what I need it do to and NOT do, of which I am having a lot of issues:

1. I need the video to play the length of the video without the learner being able to skip over it.  I Do NOT want the learner to click to move the video ahead until it's over

2. I have tried adding the time of the video to Slide Properties.  I've tried checking and un-checking 'On-click' and "Auto" in slide properties.  Which should it be???

3. I've tried adding videos by embedding them and I am still able to click Next to move before the video is complete.

4. I added the videos as Webobjects (so they are not as large a file)...

This shouldn't be this difficult to add a video,  and set it so tthe learner cannot move it ahead until it's done.  That's it. But I can't get it to work.

Please help

  • Hi Kathleen,

    Thank you for your message!

If you insert a video with Web Object, learners will be able to scroll it anyway, because the player is from third-party resource and can't be restricted by the PowerPoint or iSpring Suite.

When you insert a Web object, you need to disable On-click and Auto as it is on the screenshot below. In this case your learners won't be able to skip the slide until the duration time is over, but they still will be able to scroll the video.

The best thing to do is to insert the videos from PC and follow these instructions -> How to Make Viewing the Entire Video in Your Course Necessary

Hope everything makes sense. Let me know if you have any questions.
