Embedded web video not loading

Hi! I'm working on a project where I need to embed a YouTube video in a slide. However, when I publish the course to SCORM or HTML5, it shows me that the video is unavailable even if it's still up in yt.

This was working in the previous weeks but after I did some changes (adding audio narration), it doesn't work anymore.

Any workarounds on this?

Thanks!

  • Hello! Thank you for your question.
Do you have the same message when you click "Preview" under the iSpring Suite tab in PowerPoint?
Did you try re-adding your YouTube video after making changes in your course? Did it help?
    Keep me posted!

Hi Miley ! Thanks for your reply! The screenshot I've pasted was actually from when I previewed it from the iSpring Suite tab :) and yes, I did try re-adding the video a couple of times by:

      • Insert tab > Video > Online Video > pasted the YT link
      • iSpring Suite tab > YouTube (under the Insert section) > pasted the YT link
      • iSpring Suite tab > Web Object (under the Insert section) > pasted the YT link

So far, these are the options I've tried when I embedded the video in the project.

When I also viewed the project in Slide Show mode in PPT, the video works fine, just exactly how it's expected but when I preview it in iSpring, it doesn't work that way anymore.

  • Thank you for your prompt response.
I've just tested out some YouTube videos on my end and was not able to reproduce the issue. It might be that the issue is in the video link itself.
I would be grateful if you could send me the link that doesn't work on your end so that I can test this out.
If not, could you please try adding your video by inserting an Embed Code? You can do that by clicking on "Web object" under the iSpring Suite tab. (Screenshot is attached below).

Let me know if this helps.

    • Ysa F Thank you! I have tested the link and I am afraid was not able to reproduce the issue. Can you please try to add the video using embed code? Follow the steps below to do it:
Open the video on YouTube -> click on "Share" -> click on "Embed" -> copy the code (screenshot 1 and screenshot 2)
Now open ppt and go to iSpring Suite tab -> click on "Web Object" -> in drop down-list choose "Embed code" and paste the code (screenshot 3).

If it still doesn't work please send an email to support@ispring.com. I will do my best to help you!

Thanks Miley ! This now works when I publish it to SCORM, but not when I publish to HTML5 :(

Not sure if the copyright claims of video has an impact to this but thank you for all the help!

    • Ysa F You are welcome!
Sorry to hear that it still doesn't work in HTML5. I'm afraid that it's hard to say what exactly could cause this issue on your end because I'm not able to reproduce this. If you could send me your project to support@ispring.com, this would be very helpful for me to get to the bottom of the issue.
