PowerPoint keyboard shortcuts for Windows

Even if you know PowerPoint and created a lot of presentations, you might be surprised by the number of keyboard shortcuts for Windows you can use to speed up your content creation process. Here are some of them:

Objects

  • Ctrl + D: Duplicate an object
  • Ctrl + G: Group items together
  • Ctrl + Shift + G: Ungroup items
  • Ctrl + Shift + {:  Send an object to the front
  • Ctrl + Shift +}: Send an object to the back
  • Ctrl + A: Select all objects
  • Tab: Select another object (when one object is already selected)

Texts

  • Ctrl + B: Make selected text bold
  • Ctrl + I: Apply italic formatting
  • Ctrl + U: Apply underline formatting
  • Ctrl + E: Center the paragraph
  • Ctrl + L: Left align the paragraph
  • Ctrl + R: Right align the paragraph
  • Ctrl + Shift + C: Copy formatting only
  • Ctrl + Shift + V: Paste formatting only
  • Ctrl + H: Find and replace the text
  • Ctrl + Shift + >: Increase the font size
  • Ctrl + Shift + <: Decrease the font size
  • Shift + Enter: Insert a hyperlink

Navigation

  • Ctrl Ctrl + M: Add a new slide
  • Ctrl + D: Duplicate a selected slide

Slideshow

  • F5: Start a slideshow from the first slide
  • +: Start from the current slide
  • -: Zoom in/out
  • B: End the slideshow
