The player of v6 has a dynamic aspect ratio, that was extremely useful to embed your object in a HTML document.
In the CSS, width was set at "100%" and you then chose the height as you wished.

With the v7, both the Flash and HTML5 players use a fixed aspect ratio.
When you have width=100%, you need to provide the perfect height (height=auto doesn't work).
You have to either leave empty space, this is rather ugly, or you have to use JS to compute the height that respects the aspect ratio.
But you cannot at all choose the aspect ratio of your choice.

Did I miss something ? Or the aspect ratio is always fixed.
In a world where devices have numerous aspect ratios, this is a strange design constraint.

If you would like to use some special slide size, in this case I think you should try the following:
1. Go to PowerPoint-->Design tab-->Slide size
2. Select "Custom slide size"
3. Type in the width and the height of the slide.
